New Encoder Software

We are happy to announce new encoder software for each Live Encoder platform including Win32, Windows Mobile, and OSX.

Auto Bandwidth Negotiation (ABN)™

Each version now includes our Auto Bandwidth Negotiation feature. This improves the usability and functionality of the software. The way it works is the encoder is able to ask the server for the available bandwidth. It then adjusts the bit rate setting accordingly to match. This feature will make setup of your encoder more simple, and improve the quality of the video.

For the Win32 version of the encoder, the USB camera capture option is much more reliable. The both the Win32 version and the OSX version have a simplified UI to promote ease of use for non technical contributors. Now you can really just set your shot, click start and be sending broadcast quality live video over IP.

Finally, we’ve made great strides in enhancing the Windows Mobile Live Encoder software. Many small usability fixes have been implemented, and the included ABN takes the guess work out setting up your video stream. The testing of this software is ongoing and we continue to add to the number of phones and devices it works on.
