Panel Will Discuss Emergence of Low Data Rate Technologies for Transporting High-Quality Video

SEATTLE — Feb. 19, 2010 — Bob Hildeman, chairman and CEO of Streambox, has been chosen to speak on a panel entitled “Low Data Rate Video: What’s the Latest and Should Broadcasters Care?” as part of the upcoming Satellite 2010 Conference. The presentation is scheduled for March 17 at 10:15 a.m. in Chesapeake rooms 4-6 at the Gaylord National Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

Moderated by Dick Tauber, vice president of transmission systems and new technology for CNN News Group, the panel will discuss the emergence of low data rate video encoding for a range of applications including Internet video, streaming, video telephony, wireless communications, video databases, and newsgathering/news acquisition. The panel will describe recent advances in the technology that have improved video quality, and its potential for enhancing the effective reach of newsgathering by traditional as well as evolving and extended news resources.
