New GPS Geo Tagging Feature Added to Streambox Live

The Streambox Team is continuously adding new features to improve Streambox Live and make the service more beneficial to our users. Recently, Streambox has added GPS geo tagging. Mobile devices with a GPS receiver will automatically transmit current GPS coordinates, if the user allows it, along with the encoder’s metadata. Now, broadcasters or organizations receiving video from the Streambox Live Server will be able to pin point exactly where the video is coming from.
The GPS feature also benefits emergency response groups. If an emergency relief organization is receiving a video stream from a disaster or an emergency, they can locate and verify where the video is coming to better assist in their relief efforts.
The GPS location can be found in the Live Server Interface under the “Details” section. Here the coordinates are provided along with a link that will bring up the current location on a Google Map (pictured below)
