The Streambox Live Server: Database Synchronization
Posted in General, Streambox Live on 01. Jul, 2010
With Streambox Live Servers positioned throughout the world, users in different locations have the ability to both send and receive live streams to the server closest to their location, for faster, more efficient delivery. In addition, our Streambox Live Servers are now synched together. This database allows all Streambox Live Servers to “talk” to each other, making all videos sent to any server accessible from anywhere in the world, with a seamless transition from one server to another.
By having our servers synched through a database, it gives remote users the ability to stream to the server nearest them, not necessarily the same server that the broadcaster is connected to. This improves the quality of both sending video and receiving video by cutting the distance that the video stream needs to travel. With multiple Server locations such as Europe, the US, and both the Vizada and Stratos Satellite Networks, broadcasters and other users have the ability to have high quality video from contributors anywhere in the world right at their finger tips.
By linking all Streambox Live Servers, we are able to add more Servers all over the world in the near future, giving our users the fastest, most reliable way to send and receive video anywhere. Future Streambox Live Servers will be installed in Asia as well as to the major wireless carrier networks.
