Featured Streambox Products at the 2011 IBC Show

Streambox® Live Pro™ — Cloud-Based Video Contribution Service with Unlimited Bandwidth
Streambox Live Pro Encoder will make its debut at IBC 2011; this enhanced version of Streambox Live will give users the ability to take advantage of uncapped bandwidth, full D1 resolution, and Advanced Audio Coding (AAC). With emerging 4G cellular networks, Streambox Live Pro Encoder will utilize more available bandwidth on cellular networks to send professional quality video. Streambox Live Pro enables broadcasters to enhance breaking news stories with ad hoc broadcasting content supplied by a variety of contributors including video journalists and stringers. At the front end, the cornerstone of this scalable software-based solution is the Streambox Live Pro Encoder, which will be made available for download on laptops and desktops to contributors affiliated with broadcast groups and local television stations. Streambox Live Pro is a scalable service that allows broadcasters to capture video from their town, country, or anywhere around the world.

At the back end, broadcasters subscribing to the Streambox Live Pro service are able to manage, track, and view unlimited amounts of video uploads from contributors. The broadcaster can also manage digital rights for video contributions and search for relevant video clips using metadata information.

Streambox Enterprise Server™ — Complete End-to-End Broadcasting Solution
Streambox Enterprise Server is designed for broadcasters to capture content at a lower cost by providing an acquisition platform that can be used to manage and play out live and file-based video sent from the field. Enterprise Server is a complete package consisting of the Distribution Server, Store and Forward Server, and Interrupted Feedback Broadcast (IFB), that all work together to provide an end-to-end solution. Broadcasters will have the ability to utilize Streambox acquisition platform products in their workflow for client encoding software devices, management servers, and multiple playout options. Highly secure video is sent from the field using a Streambox Encoder to the station’s Enterprise Server where it is routed live on-air or to other playout platforms. Video can also be sent from the studio to the field or other affiliates for confidence monitoring of on-air broadcast. The server automatically archives all video streams to be available for download at a later time, enabling broadcasters with the flexibility to choose which video streams they prefer to air live and which streams they decide to edit for later use.

Avenir™ is designed for field newsgathering, sports broadcasting, and other mobile live and file-based video applications, Avenir is Streambox’s first hardware-based mobile encoder to offer up to eight 3G/4G bonded wireless network cellular modems for high-quality HD or SD in a fully portable form factor, enabling live or file-based video acquisition over a variety of low-data-rate networks. Avenir takes advantage of 4G LTE’s higher bandwidth capabilities to send HD/SD broadcast quality video. The Streambox Avenir is also the first battery operated mobile encoder designed for a reporter to send HD/SD live and file-based video content over a variety of IP networks, which allows broadcasters to replace traditional SNG/DNG systems. Reporters can also access the user interface through wireless devices like the Apple iPod® touch or iPad™. The Avenir harnesses Streambox’s award-winning ACT-L3™ codec to capture and encode high-quality HD content in 1080i or 720p format, at data rates of up to 20 Mbps, and SD content in NTSC or PAL from 64 Kbps to 8 Mbps.
