On December 5th, 2010, Verizon launched their new 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) network in 38 cities around the country, including Seattle, home of Streambox headquarters.

Today, Streambox was able to stream reliable broadcast quality SD video over Verizon’s 4G LTE Network. The video was sent using the Streambox Hybrid HD/SD Software Encoder and a single 4G LTE Cellular Modem. During the test, we were consistently streaming anywhere from 5-17mbps from multiple locations with low latency and minimal packet loss. With this 4G bandwidth and the Streambox Hybrid HD/SD Software Encoder, users can send broadcast quality video at 1-2mbps.
