Streambox® today announced that its StreamboxME (Mobile Encoder) smartphone streaming application is now available for the iPhone® 4, as well as iPhone 3GS phones that have been upgraded to the iOS 4 operating system. With StreamboxME, iPhone users are able to stream high-quality video over the AT&T 3G network via the Streambox Live™ broadband video contribution service, where the video may be accessed by broadcasters, news organizations, government agencies, and enterprises. StreamboxME for iPhone 4 includes several new features recently added to Streambox Live, which offers a groundbreaking approach to field newsgathering and video capture.
Streambox® and Fisher Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: FSCI) today announced a strategic partnership to further develop solutions that will enable Fisher and other broadcasters to expand video contribution and Web streaming initiatives for all distribution platforms. Fisher is also the first U.S. customer to deploy the new Streambox Avenir™ compact mobile encoder. The Avenir joins a number of other Streambox IP-based streaming and video transport solutions deployed by Fisher to enhance the remote newsgathering capabilities of its news teams.

KOMO 4 News, the Seattle ABC affiliate and Fisher Subsidiary, became the first news station to use Streambox Avenir live on-air. Streambox Avenir is an HD/SD broadcasting device that allows users to send live and file-based video from hard to reach locations that satellite trucks cannot go. The device can route live video through the Streambox Live Server or stream on-air for live broadcast. With battery power and the ability to bond up to eight 3G/4G wireless data cards, KOMO exhibited that Avenir is the ideal solution for field newsgathering and reporting where breaking news is happening.
