Streambox Products at Satellite 2007

SEATTLE February 6, 2007

Streambox® SBT3-9100™ HD Video Transport — At Satellite 2007, Streambox will be exhibiting its next generation solution for HD video transport and HD newsgathering, the Streambox® SBT3-9100. The end-to-end HD system, first announced in late 2006, provides stunning full-motion, full-frame 1080i/720p HD broadcast video and audio, in real-time, over satellite and IP-based networks. The HD encoder/HD decoder works seamlessly with the full range of Streambox systems and solutions. The system is built on Streambox's industry-leading ACT-L3™ codec, which provides unrivaled HD video quality at data rates ranging from 512 Kbps to 20 Mbps. Features of the Streambox® SBT3-9100 include robust forward error correction and advanced networking capabilities for enhanced performance, efficiency, and reliability; dual Gigabit Ethernet ports; and store and forward capabilities. In addition, the SBT3-9100 is capable of outputting both HD and down-converted SD broadcast video simultaneously from a single HD source and it offers support for both digital and analog HD input/output formats. Customers deploying the SBT3-9100 HD solution can expect an accelerated return on investment due to significantly lower bandwidth cost.

Streambox® Newsgathering, Public Safety, and Armed Forces Solutions — Streambox will also demonstrate its newsgathering capabilities which are now available for emergency and non-emergency law enforcement, public safety, and military applications. Streambox systems deliver high quality live and stored broadcast video over low data-rate connections such as broadband, BGAN, and other IP and satellite networks. The systems facilitate real-time viewing of unfolding events and enables government, military and relief organizations to quickly assess and respond to crises.

Typically used for mobile newsgathering via broadband or IP, Streambox solutions, including the company’s real-time portable and compact video transport systems, are ideal when portability, flexibility, and a low power requirement are needed. Performance, reliability, and low end-to-end latency are hallmarks of Streambox solutions. These features, inherent in all Streambox systems, ensure unrivaled video quality at low data rates for a wide range of applications, including mobile command centers for the armed forces.

During power outages Streambox systems seamlessly switch to battery power and continue to deliver video without interruption. Streambox systems can be deployed in manned or unmanned aircraft or assigned to, for example, relief organizations or local authorities on the scene. The ability to transmit high quality video even from the most challenging locations and under less than ideal circumstances provides local, state, and federal agencies with an invaluable tool for rapid assessment of real-life emergency situations.
