Christ
Fellowship Church Selects the Streambox SBT3-5100 Video
Transport System as Solution of Choice for Multisite Video
Distribution Over a Multicast IP Network
SEATTLE
— Feb. 14, 2006 — Streambox, Inc., one of the leading suppliers of real-time video solutions for broadcasting, satellite and cable, today announced that Christ Fellowship Church, based in Palm Beach
Gardens, Fla., has deployed a number of Streambox SBT3-5100 ACT-L3™ encoder/decoder solutions for distribution of real-time video of services to multiple worship venues
over an IP multicast network.
Christ
Fellowship Church wanted a solution that enabled multiple venues to view
the same video source in real time while putting in place infrastructure
that facilitated flawless transmission of Sunday services. The church
tested a number of other systems and solutions, but selected the
Streambox SBT3-5100 ACT-L3 system for its capability to deliver broadcast-quality video, high
compression, forward error correction, and advanced network
capabilities, all in one integrated device, over an IP multicast network
to remote worship facilities. The Streambox solution also provides the
flexibility of multicast mode, which enables simultaneous, bidirectional
transmission of real-time video. Multicast mode allows Christ Fellowship
Church to add additional worship sites to the network at a much lower
bandwidth cost than with individual unicast streams between sites.
Christ
Fellowship Church turned to Media Visions, a leading audio-video systems
integrator, to select Streambox as a vendor. “Our first SBT3-5100 ACT-L3 encoder/decoder was up and running in a matter of minutes and we had the
entire system streaming video across three sites within four hours,”
said Neil Morrison, vice president of sales and engineering at Media
Visions. “I strongly recommend Streambox to other customers with similar
requirements.”
“The
deployment at Christ Fellowship Church demonstrates our continued focus
on customer requirements and commitment to delivering superior
technology and value at a low cost,” said Bob Hildeman, chairman
and CEO of Streambox. “At the same time, the high-performance SBT3-5100 ACT-L3 system enables us to meet the unique needs of multisite churches.”
“Streambox has played an important role in helping Christ Fellowship
Church deliver broadcast-quality video over IP to multiple worship
sites,” said Steve Griffith, creative media pastor, Christ Fellowship
Church. “The Streambox solution will make it simple to add new remote
sites to the multicast network as we grow.”
