SEATTLE – Nov. 29, 2006 – Streambox, Inc. today announced the release of the Streambox^® SBT3-9100, a new generation of the company’s industry-leading video transport solutions for HD video transport and HD newsgathering. The SBT3-9100 is an end-to-end HD video transport system that provides stunning full-motion, full-frame 1080i/720p HD broadcast video and audio over satellite and IP-based networks.

The SBT3-9100 HD encoder/decoder is built on Streambox’s industry-leading ACT-L3™ codec, which provides unrivaled HD video quality at data rates ranging from 512 Kbps to 20 Mbps, and equipped with advanced networking capabilities. The latest video transport system from Streambox has been specifically developed to meet the rigid performance and quality requirements of broadcasters, government agencies, and enterprises. Features of the SBT3-9100 system include robust forward error correction for enhanced performance, efficiency, and reliability.

Each SBT3-9100 HD system is outfitted with dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, providing multiplex/demultiplex configurations for video-stream redundancy. The second Ethernet port may be designated as a management port for instant access from anywhere. The SBT3-9100 is capable of outputting both HD and down-converted SD broadcast video simultaneously from a single HD source and it offers support for both digital and analog HD input/output formats. Store and forward capabilities facilitate enhanced management of HD video streams and an expanded set of resolutions and frame rates makes the system ideal for use in film production and post-production environments.

The SBT3-9100 system operates seamlessly with other Streambox products, such as the Streambox^® Distribution Server and Streambox^® IFB Server, and the combination of these systems simplifies the launch of advanced HD broadcasting and newsgathering activities.
