The next generation Streambox® SBT3-9200 Encoder provides a unique set of features and capabilities which ensure the delivery of stunning full-motion, full frame 1080i/720p HD video and audio over
IP-based networks. The HD Encoder can be operated in either HD or SD mode enabling the user to capture, transmit, and play-out either live or file-based HD or SD video depending on specific application needs and requirements. The SBT3-9200 delivers exceptional quality, unmatched reliability, and enhanced HD and SD performance in one integrated solution.

The SBT3-9200 Encoder is used by a variety of customers including broadcasters, government agencies, and enterprises. It utilizes Streambox’s industry-leading ACT-L3™ Codec which provides high quality HD video at data rates ranging from 512 Kbps to 30 Mbps and SD video from 64 Kbps to 15 Mbps.

The SBT3-9200 Encoder supports full 1080i video as well as HD/SD digital and analog input and output formats. In addition, the Encoder includes an expanded set of resolutions and frame rates for enhanced compatibility with film and video production as well as post production applications.

Solution Overview
The SBT3-9200 HD/SD Encoder provides superior performance and
reliability due to the unrivaled ACT-L3™ compression and networking
features which include robust forward error correction, burst error
protection, and bandwidth shaping technologies.

The system’s ability to encode, transmit, and play-out either live or file-based HD or SD video streams coupled with its support for both digital and analog input/output formats sets the SBT3-9200 apart from other HD transport solutions. In addition, Streambox’s integrated approach to HD/SD video transport enhances system flexibility and applicability to a variety of mission-critical broadcast and enterprise operations.

Each SBT3-9200 HD/SD Encoder comes with a Gigabit Ethernet interface providing multiplex/demultiplex configurations for video stream redundancy. The second Ethernet port may be designated as a management port for instant access from anywhere. The Encoder can use the transport layer of existing ASI networks to deliver ACT-L3™ compression more efficiently.

The integrated SBT3-9200 Encoder works seamlessly with other Streambox products such as the Streambox® SBT3-9100 HD Decoder, SD Decoders as well as Streambox's video management systems for both live and file-based video transport and play-out. Benefits to users include: faster video transmission over a variety of IP-based networks, lower bandwidth requirements, increased efficiency, and reduced streaming cost.

Streambox^® ACT-L3™ Codec
The ACT-L3T codec features an advanced proprietary video compression technology optimized for interlaced and progressive video and display systems. ACT-L3T provides higher HD and SD video quality at much lower data rates than MPEG and H.264 compression. The ACT-L3T codec is adaptable to user selectable data rate requirements with constant bit rate and variable bit rate modes.

The robust family of ACT-L3T Video Transport solutions features innovative error correction and bandwidth shaping technologies which manage, control, and mitigate packet loss and correct irregularities common to video delivery over packet-based networks.
