Software for Broadcast Video Transport
The Streambox SD Software Encoder can be deployed on Mac or Windows laptops. Armed with a laptop and a camera, field reporters can stream live, high-quality SD video from remote locations. The SD Encoder provides superior performance and reliability with the unrivaled ACT-L3 compression and networking features, which include a robust forward error correction and bandwidth shaping technologies.
Exclusive to the new encoder software is its multiplexing capabilities, which enable the system to accommodate dual BGAN terminals, T1 lines, and 3G/4G air cards for increased bandwidth. This includes support for mobile 3G/4G bonding, which enables clients to bond two air cards for wireless IP access — effectively increasing the available bandwidth for streaming broadcast-quality HD video in 720p or 1080i format.
This is an ideal solution for Live Newsgathering, Emergency Response, and Government-Military. The Software Encoder benefits users by allowing broadcasters, government agencies and enterprises to deliver high quality live and stored video over low data rate connections such as 3G/4G, Wi-Fi, BGAN, and other IP-based networks.
