Frequently Asked Questions

Video Transport Overview

There are two primary components to the Streambox system, an Encoder and a Decoder. The Encoder receives a composite or digital video and audio signal, applies compression, segments it into network packets, and streams those packets over common T1 or IP network connections to the Decoder. The Decoder then accepts the packets, reassembles the data stream, and outputs video and audio in real-time. Robust forward error correction and other advanced networking features ensure reliable performance and delivery over IP-based networks.

Streambox video transport provides real-time broadcast video over IP-based networks. Broadcasters, government agencies, and enterprises rely on Streambox solutions for unrivaled video and audio quality at low data rates and low cost. Lower data rate requirements enable customers to curb bandwidth consumption and cost which ultimately helps accelerate the return on investment.
