LiveEU (IP= Down for 2hr Maintenance, Wednesday, September 16th from 0400-0600 UTC.

This is notification that liveEU.streambox.com servers will be down for maintenance on September 16, 2015.  This will only impact customers streaming directly to liveEU.streambox.com (IP= and will NOT impact servers in other regions.

Why is this happening? This is scheduled mandatory maintenance for a portion of the Streambox Cloud infrastructure.

When will this occur? September 16, 2015 0400 to 0600 UTC

What can you expect? Streaming to LiveEU.streambox.com will be disrupted and will return to normal operation at roughly 0600 UTC.

A downtime announcement banner will be up on the live web pages by Sept 11, 2015 to inform additional users of the maintenance window.

What actions do I need to take?

  • Coordinate downtime to minimize impact to business.
  • An alternate server can be used during this downtime – liveDE.streambox.com (IP=
  • For Avenir and Linux products use the web interface and select ‘Settings’ and then ‘Decoder’ page.
  • For Windows products use the web interface and select the ‘Network’ menu and select ‘Target Decoder IP’.

Streambox Announces Avenir 3.1.4 Beta Update for Mini 3 and Mini 3c

Streambox has been listening to their customers’ requests and is please to announce the following updates in the 3.1.4 release.

  • Updated LDMP Presets improve ease of use
  • Ability to change WiFi password improves system security
  • Ability to pull GPS data from supported USB Modems as well as internal modems with addition of GPS antenna.
  • Improved Inmarsat BGAN terminals support (VPN/APN support, dual terminal support, improved Cobham E710 direct terminal control)

The Avenir Mini 3 is capable of performing as a WiFi Access Point (AP). Many organizations adhere to Security practices that require the capability to change the initial Access Point password. Streambox has published this software enhancement to allow for this capability.

Streambox Cloud Adds Support for Asymmetric Inmarsat HDR/BGAN

Inmarsat asymmetric HDR allows customer to save $8-10 per minute for high bitrate video feeds from anywhere in the world. We have added capability to utilize Streambox Low Delay Multi-Path (LDMP) protocol from both Cloud Servers and Enterprise Servers.

All 8 Cloud servers now can receive asymmetric HDR feeds:

  • US East
  • US West
  • Tokyo
  • Singapore
  • Sao Paulo
  • Germany
  • Ireland
  • Australia

Both single and dual terminal live feeds are supported by Streambox AVENIRMicro and Apple OSX Software encoders.

How to use:

  1. After it is received by Live Server, data handoff to decoder or Enterprise server doesn’t require any additional steps.
  2. To use Asymmetric HDR with Live Servers, change destination port to 1900 for you HDR presets.
  3. To feed Asymmetric HDR directly to Enterprise servers, please contact Streambox support for ES update and instructions.

New Streambox Media Player HD & 4K 3.162.05

New Streambox Media Player (Pro) for Apple OSX provides direct video output to Blackmagic playback devices and cards such as the Blackmagic Monitor and Decklink UltraStudio 4K in HDMI, HD-SDI or 4K-SDI.

This release includes real-time full-frame rate playback of ACTL-3 4K video files and live streams including Ultra 4K 2160p 30, 24, and 60 fps, DCI 24 and 23.98 fps. Core i7 CPU is recommended.

How to use: In Media Player click Settings, then select “Use Blackmagic H/W” to enable hardware video playback on your favorite Blackmagic device. In addition, output format (NTSC, PAL, 1080i, 720p  including transcoding and upconvert ) can be selected from the “Output” selection on the Settings menu.
